Hello March & Daylight Savings Time

I was taken by surprise the other day when I found out that Daylight Savings Time begins for us next weekend. The people that make these kinds of decisions lengthened DST by several weeks. Last year they extended it at the end and this year they are starting it earlier too. So next weekend we’ll be ‘springing forward’, as the saying goes - turning the clocks forward one hour. It just seems a bit too soon for me even though I do like Spring and all that Spring brings. Right now the weather forecasters are saying “Winter Storm Warning” so when tomorrow arrives, we may wake up to snow. Does that seem like Spring to you?

Nevertheless, with the arrival of Spring comes my first teddy bear show of the year. I’ll be heading to Teddies Spring Show in Maryland with some new bears and friends in tow. In fact, I was counting how much time I have left to get ready and it’s only 27 more days. Over the course of the next couple of weeks I hope that I’ll be able to give you a sneak peek at one or two of the new bears who will be traveling with me to the show. I’ve got some ideas but it means rifling through the mohair I have to see what fabric would work the best. If I can keep my focus and not get distracted by a fabric that lures me in direction away from my goal, I should be able to accomplish a little something this week – I expect. I believe. I think. I hope . . .
