Robin Knows It

Since returning from our trip, I have cleaned and sorted three closets and one cabinet – things I somehow missed (or avoided) in my late December post-holiday clean-up. I wonder how I managed that??!! It was just enough work to put me back in the mood to sew again. A few cleared out spaces and a new outlook –

This picture is from an old learning to read book that belongs to my sister. (Click to enlarge.) I think the story was about Spring’s arrival. As you can see Robin is making an enthusiastic announcement! That’s how I feel today. At 7am this morning I drew back the curtains and the sky was overcast and not very encouraging. An hour and a half later, the sky was a bright and beautiful blue with fluffy (or so they appeared) white clouds. It was just right for a fresh start with some new ideas for bears, bunnies, fairies and the like.

I ventured into the sun and took a look around our yard overlooking the fact that our lawn most definitely needs mowing. I took this photo . . .

and this photo . . .

and then had lunch at a friend’s house where I took this photo . . .

Now, it’s time to sew. I'm not sure it gets much better than this.

  1. We are having spring over here too, but you are a little bit further! My camelia's have thick buds, but not one flower yet. I love the photo of the purple flowers. And of course the page of the reading book, just awesome, thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.

  7. Hi Sharon, I think they are wild violets and are considered a weed. They can overrun a yard but they're still pretty little flowers. Hope this helps!

  9. I love the violets - so delicate - so pretty!
How do you get the deckel edges to your pictures?

  10. Thank you Carol. The deckel edges are a 'picture frame' choice in my photo software. Hope that answers your question.

  11. That has to be one of the most perfect flowers I have ever seen, it's just beautiful!

I was getting all ready to clean out the nooks, crannies and cubby holes in my work room too...then I got word today I am going to have company. I spose cleaning the powder rooms is more important. =/

I like the polka dots! I almost went with polka dots on my last bloglift and didn't at the last moment. Sometimes you and I seem to almost think on the same wavelength!

Have a great day! Hugs, Kelly
