I am relating this story that came to me from someone I trust implicitly. They don’t live with me so you know that every word is nearly almost absolutely 97% true. It is such an important discovery that I would be remiss if I did not share it here.
A father and daughter were together doing the normal everyday things. He was reading his paper trying to sort out the answer to 6 down in the crossword puzzle. She was doing laundry. It was a cold day in February so the laundry contained many socks that they had worn to keep their feet toasty.
After the wash cycle had finished, the daughter said to her father, “I do not have any clothespins to hang our laundry on the line.” He replied, “What happened to all of them?” She answered, “I used them all to make clothespin dolls so now we don’t have any.”
“That may be a dilemma when Spring arrives, but today it is too cold to hang the wash outside. You should put it in the dryer.” After lining up all her clothespin dolls on the windowsill, the daughter put the laundry in the dryer, including all the socks. When it was dry, she pulled it all out to fold and put away.
“Oh my!” she exclaimed. “It has happened again. One of the socks has gone missing.” She eyed the clothespin dolls but they were not giving up any information about the sock.
After looking high and low, she gave up and told her father that another sock was gone.
Much later that day, she looked at the laundry lying in neat piles and noticed that the sock had mysteriously reappeared! “Daddy,” she said, “where did you find the sock?”
“I saw a teddy bear walking down the hall with it and figured he must have borrowed it” he answered.
This teddy bear was made by Patty Tieri
This new evidence should put to rest any questions about what happens when socks go missing. It’s the teddy bears who are responsible. If you don’t have any teddy bears in your house and you have missing socks, you should get a couple of bears. They will give you someone to point to when the socks go missing.
Good to know all my missing socks are being well used, instead of being "eaten" by the dryer. ;)
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA didn't i tell u... (it's always gotta do with the bears, oops!) Thanks for sharing this story. I'll definitely check with my hoard...
ReplyDeleteI'm on my way to finding me a teddy bear. There are numerous missing socks in this house.
ReplyDeleteOh that explains so many things.... thank you for sharing!!! (Off to find that mischevious bear now!)
ReplyDeleteI have more teddy bears than I care to count, and missing socks.

So That's where all mine and hubby's socks go!!! I better go look in my teddy bear room....Very sweet post! Hugs, Jennifer
ReplyDeleteLOL! Love the teddy bear with the socks on his ears, really cute!
ReplyDelete:)))
ReplyDeleteIs it because their ears are cold? Perhaps they wish they had long locks? Were elephants? Do stuffed elephants steal socks as trunk warmers? Do Teddy Bears wish they had trunks to make grabbing snacks easier? I just don't know!!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I strongly suspect Teddy Bears support anything that makes getting snacks easier.
I love it, and with the socks, the Bears look like the Easter Bunny.
