Iowa Travelogue 3

Today started out rainy. Even so they wanted to find this pagoda we had seen the day before. It looked like a nice place to enjoy in better weather. So, if time (and weather) allows we might try to return another day.

It was still pouring buckets at lunch. It is one time when traveling in a purse can be a good thing.

itl3-2

The weather improved as we continued on the road to Clarion.

itl3-3

Now this is the Iowa I had imagined. Farmland with corn growing as far as the eye could see. See me there on the fence post? It was windy and I nearly toppled off. Geez – the things I do for these people!

itl3-4

Now this was quite a sight. Lots and lots of windmills. I had never seen anything like it before. Of course, I’ve never seen much at all before, but that’s beside the point. These are quite impressive.

itl3-5

I mean look at the size of this thing! It’s huge . . . and we weren’t even that close to it.

itl3-6

Finally, we arrived in Clarion. This was taken inside the Heartland Museum just after dinner. If you look closely you can see me there.

itl3-9

We had to set up The Cupcake CafĂ© for the Spectacular Bear Display. She’s got some fine company.

itl3-7

Okay, this was the opening ceremony. I saw lots of people there but I was more interested in seeing the bears. Unfortunately, they were too far away for me to get any personal introductions.

itl3-8

Well, it’s been a long day and I have a busy busy day tomorrow. I am going to turn in for the night. Will someone please turn off that light?

  2. It looks like you're having a great time Henry! Tell your Mom hi, and that I hope she does well at the show. I know she will though! Just don't accidentally go home with anyone, or she will never get you back!
