What’s your weather like?

Everywhere we went this weekend, the subject of conversation was the heat. Strangers, neighbors, family – it was all about how stepping outside felt like a) an oven b) a furnace c) a sauna or d) all of the above. It’s true – the heat index was 110°F (43°C).

It didn’t stop us from going to the Farmer’s Market where everything looked fresh and delicious but still, we didn’t linger. It was just too hot. Did I say it was hot?

The fruits, veggies, and flowers thought so too. I wouldn’t believe it either except I heard them talking about how happy they were to be out of the sun for a change. Okay, well, I am fairly certain I heard them – or maybe the heat was getting to me and I only imagined it. Did I say it was hot?

  1. Hi Miss Ginger,

We enjoyed your post - very clever. The nice thing about being a teddy bear is that we always stay indoors - especially in the summer when it's HOT HOT HOT. And boy, it's hot where we live - much more so than last summer. )o:

  5. Down under down under, it's been rather a cold winter, but today I could feel a little warmth in the sun and poking around under the old asparagus fronds I found some little newbies pushing through the soil......aaaahhhh summer is on it's way!

  6. Here in the NW UK we have a water shortage and a hosepipe ban was introduced about 2 weeks ago. It has rained or been overcast ever since! (or so it seems anyway!) Gotta larf!

  7. Honey Bear informed me yesterday that the record for 'hot' here in Huntsville was set in 1932 so I guess it has been hotter that this but I didn't live then so it is not important to me right now....Now, how did you get those conversation bubbles on your photos?

  9. It has been really hot in our neck of the woods. We had a little relief, but not much. We don't usually have quite this bad in July, but this year has been something else. We didn't really have a spring, but hopefully we will have fall. It is about 11:15 at night and we are still at 80 degrees. It doesn't look like it will cool down much tonight. Have a great day.

  10. We have had hot weather for the foothills but not to hot. (Just wait til August!!) Glorious mornings spent in the garden just enjoying it all. This week all the babies left the robins nest and the chickadees flew away from the birdhouse. Kinda lonely now that we are single nesters. I love this post only Ginger would hear what the fruit and veggies are saying. You crack me up.
