I w0uld like to say a huge thank you to all of you who left the most wonderful, and sometimes funny, comments on my last post. I’ll be around to visit shortly to say hello to many of you.
Now, for those who might be a tad interested, an abbreviated virtual tour of the Doll and Teddy Expo that took place in Winston-Salem, NC.
It costs us a whole 25¢ to park & 2 free passes to see this show which was actually quite amazing in itself. I was never able to attend Expo when it was in Washington, DC so I didn’t know what to expect.
There were some teddy bears, mostly Steiff and they were terrific but only a few teddy bear artists. The rest of the show consisted of dolls – many that would knock your socks off in one way or another.
It was difficult for me to decide what to show here, there was so much to look at but at last I settled on this mix to give you an idea of what we saw. I’ll curb my blathering on & on and just let you look at some of the photos I took.
The Toy Shoppe BoothR. John Wright’s Alice in WonderlandAnother Wright creation. Oops! I’ve forgotten which booth this was. Thought you might like to see these. Here’s a glimpse of part of the showroom. These dolls were rich with detail. Here’s a close-up of one. This is a huge, nearly life size, Steiff display. Donald was on the ark? Learn something new every day.I could not resist taking a picture of this sweet face. Alas, only her photo came home with me.Okay, these are boxes & boxes full of miniature dolls and bears. Harry Potter and The Twilight Series fit for a doll’s bookshelf. This food looked yummy, but it was so tiny I decided I better leave it for the dolls.
The dolls on this table were quite unique with their striped stockings and dresses of mixed prints and stripes. What an interesting display.
With that I’ll say goodnight or good morning – whatever it is wherever you are. Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!
Thank you very much for the pictures. They are great!
