Easy on the Wallet

A little background on the following photos . . .

Over the last couple of years of blogging here, I have attended a number of teddy bear shows. Here and there and here and there. Usually, I try to post a photo of the showroom if I can get a good one. It gives you an overall idea of entire space. Then I go from table to table and try to capture a cross section of them on my camera. Entire tables full of teddy bear artistry!

I have decided that the photo I took last year of the TBAI showroom looked so similar to this year’s showroom I wondered if you might think I was re-using my old pictures! If you want to see it again, you can click here.

What I did instead was to wander up and down each row and shoot whatever caught my eye. In a way, it was a bit like window shopping. Very easy on the wallet. Plus there are literally hundreds of teddy bears and well, I don’t have the stamina to show them all to you - which makes a really good argument for attending a teddy bear show yourself – if you can, if you are inclined, and if meeting crazy people like me there would not deter you.

On with the photos!

I had to insert this photo of two of the loveliest pirates of the previous evening. Lo and behold, I found out that the one on the left is my blogging friend and fellow artist Michele Seraphim.  It was kind of a challenge to figure out who was who with all the costumes!

Her mother, who is on the right, came along with her to the show. What delights! It was a pleasure finally getting to meet her. Here is an example of her work.

At lastly, a snapshot of my table.  I hope to post a few of the still available bears on my website in the next few days.

In light of the fact that TBAI 2011 is over now, I can post photos of the evolution and conclusion of my piece for the gallery. And that’s exactly what I’m going to do in my next post. See you then.
