On my list of blog posts I hope and fully intend to write soon go by such titles as “Things We Saw in London and Probably Won’t See in Raleigh” and “Food We’ve Eaten” and “Desserts and Other Good Things” or something to that effect.
But as it is rather late in the evening here, I have decided to post some photos that will be out of order. Out of order in the sense that these are photos I took today. Later when I have my wits about me, I will show some of the others but these were last on the camera – easier to access and to remember!
We arrived in Canterbury, England today and are staying in a centuries old B&B – House of Agnes as mentioned in Charles Dickens’ novel David Copperfield. I hope I will have more photos of the inn later.
For now I hope you will enjoy this rather misty photo of Canterbury Cathedral taken after the Evensong Service.
A snapshot of the candelabra on our dinner table this evening – very atmospheric – thanks to our ever stellar friend Lex, who chose the restaurant.
Sebastian is seen below joining us for a cup of tea in a centuries old pub. He’s lovin’ this whole ancient history bit.
And the pub itself – with its slanty floor and uneven walls. Or is it uneven floor and slanty walls? Heck, it’s probably both!
So exciting, the photo of the cathedral is magic. To feel the history must be amazing.

The more you drink, the more those floors/walls slant too ;o)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you all are having a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteHi Ginger, I have so enjoyed seeing and reading about your trip to England. I love seeing all of your pictures and would love to see more. All of the bears are made by so many talented people. I do love reading your blog even though sometimes I am unable to leave a comment. I will look forward to seeing more pictures. Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteHi
