Sebastian as Tour Guide

You-know-who was busy sewing and said if I was very good I could write a post for the blog. Well, you know I am always very good, right? It was a done deal from the word go.

I was lingering about with some of the new guys on the block deciding what I should write about when she added the caveat that I be very quiet so as not to disturb her ‘creative process’ as she put it.

I guess that means you too. But then you guys are never very loud anyway.

She suggested I take you on a tour – outside. I decided that seemed like a very good idea. Would you like to take a tour of our yard?

First we have to go down the porch steps,

all four of them – take your time –

to get to the yard where our tour begins.

First we have these little purple-y colored things.

They are very sweet looking but don’t eat them. They taste terrible. Trust me.

I couldn’t decide whether to show you these or not, but I love ‘em so I thought ‘why not?’  These logs are just the right size for sitting on. Oh, sorry. I mean bears – not people. No offense intended.

Here we have a fence railing. It’s very important. I’m not sure why exactly, but there’s lots of them so they must be right? I rather like this one. I’d even go so far as to say it’s my favorite fence railing in the whole wide world and it’s right in my back yard. How lucky is that?

Hold onto your seats now. This is the exciting part! This. Is. A. Stick. Yep, you don’t get this up close and personal on any other tour you have been on, right? With sticks you have to be very careful. Remember what your mother used to say? “You could put an eye out with that thing!”

Lastly, here we are in the neighbor’s yard with these lovely two-lips. I don’t know why they call them two-lips. They look more like five or six lips, but that’s how it goes. I don’t make the rules.

Now as the very first participants in my very own yard tour, I want to share a little bit of news. This has been my debut as an official blogger. Yes, you read that correctly, I am official. Do you know how you can tell? Just look right down there at the bottom of this post and you will see my name. That makes me as official as official can get. O-fish-ul. Official. Yep, that’s me. Official.  You can even send me an email if you want ‘cuz I have one of those too.  Oops! Gotta go. I am being officially called for dinner!

  1. Thanks for the tour, Sebastian. You have been marvelous at showing us around the yard, despite the large-sized steps. Looking forward to more posts! Oh, congrats on being official!

    1. Hi there Val! Nice to hear from you. Thank you so very much. I'll tell you a secret. I'm not a professional tour guide so your comment means a lot to me.

  3. Yippee! Sebastian, I am so excited, you have your own e-mail too, now we can write back and forth and share secrets.

You are the best tour guide in the world - honest. I loved the tour. AND, do you think Miss Ginger will let you be posting every week? Maybe Sebastian's Funny Friday? That would be so beary much fun.

    Hugs,
    Prudence

    The neighbor's two-lips are bee-u-tee-ful.

    1. Hi Prudence,

Thank you for saying that I'm the best tour guide. I think you are the best tour taker. Is that a right word? I'll have to see what if I can take part in Funny Friday. I love it! But then most every day is funny for me.

      Many hugs from your friend,
      Sebastian

  4. Congrats, you're now well on your way to your own official blog. I have one of those because LT didn't want my photo tours cluttering up her blog - huh! Anywho, we don't have one of them garden things or flowers, or trees, guess that's what happens when you live in a flat that's not on the ground floor! We can see a bunch of cherry trees across the road though, and we're waiting for them to bloom right now. They're certainly taking their time...

    Hugs

    1. Hi Jack,

Yes, I love being official. Being unofficial doesn't get you many free desserts in the food places. Now I can walk in and say "I'm an official blogger - I'd like my free dessert now."

I think flats are very cute. Much much nicer than rounds. And do keep watch on the cherry trees - I think they may need a little encouragement from time to time.

      Hugs,
      Sebastian

  5. Hi Sebastian, I'm so glad you are official, just like me. It some times makes me feel real growd up. I think you could get a job as a tour instructor. You showed us the best stick that any one could have. Do you watch the bugs and ants crawl on your railing.
    I like doing that.
    See you next week
    Hugs

    1. Hi Wilbur,

It's nice to have all the job recommendations for tour guide. The part I like best about being official is having my friends tell me how glad they are. Who knew?! It is a very good stick, I tell you. I'm going to watch for the bugs and ants. If they are bigger than me you can be sure I'll be inside watching from the window!

      hugs to you,
      Sebastian

    1. Hello dear, dear Mouse,

Yes! Yes! Yes! There is room for a wee mouse on the logs. We could have such fun! We could throw leaves down on the ground and see where they land. And then we could have a cookie. Then we could climb back on the logs and count the birds. Then we could have a cookies. See how that works? It's loads of fun to do with a friend.

      love,
      Sebastian

You are so very kind to me. I'm glad that you came on my tour. Now I'll have to see what else I can come up with. Anything in particular you'd like to take a tour of? It has to be kind of close by because my little paws get awfully tired when I have to walk a long way. Riding in a pocket is much better so I'll keep that as an option if you think of something.

    1. Hey Wayne,

I know you have lots of furry friends like me where you live. We like all the animals you make - nowhere near as frightening as some of the ones around here. The squirrels here are so jumpy that I never know which way they are going to run and no matter which way I guess, it's always the wrong one! Glad you came along to see our yard!

    1. Hello Bellamine & Wendy!

I'm glad you liked my post and seeing my yard. Um, our yard. Sometimes I forget that other people live here too. We didn't get much snow here this year. I kind of missed it a little but if it hasn't come by now, I am ready to welcome springtime. I can get outside more. Maybe you could come and play sometime! That would be lots of fun!

      hugs,
      Sebastian

  11. Sebastian,
Those Purple-y colored things are grape hyacinths. We have them in our yard, too, but we didn't plant them. I think the Birds do that accidentally, somehow...Anyway, I enjoyed the tour..You're a super tour guide.

    1. Hi Wil,

Doesn't hyacinths sound like something you could eat? Don't try it though. I'm glad you enjoyed the tour! I was a tad nervous at first but now I think I could do it again and be okay!
