The Adventure of Going

Travel is an interesting thing. One day you are a few miles from home enjoying some Impressionists inspired sculptures and the next day, you are a few hundred of miles away and

your beloved teddy is being precariously dangled in mid-air by a Stormtrooper.

That’s the way it goes some days – especially when it’s Star Wars Weekend at Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.  There were lots of bad guys

and lots of good guys.

It was fun seeing Minnie dressed as Leia too.

We went in a lot of different directions at Hollywood Studios – choosing to do our favorite things first. One of which was the Toy Story Mania Ride. It’s not just for kids. Okay – so maybe it IS just for kids, but big kids (like us!) are welcome.

I really like the way giant toys and games decorate the queue.

Remember the game of Candy Land? Imagine it much, much larger – like wall-sized.

We also took some time to look at the model for the new Fantasyland. It’s amazing how much detail they put in these things. Can you see the twin Dumbo rides? It’s going to be really cool.

Then we headed to EPCOT to see the Flower and Garden Festival and the World – uh, the World Showcase. Sebastian agrees with me about travel being interesting. He says to tell you one day you can be dangling mid-air at the hands of the evil empire and the next you can be cuddled by a Moroccan beauty.

I guess in his mind it all balances out in the end.

  1. How scary, I think I would have had a panic attack
Sebastian. Well I could get used to the beautiful girl who was holding you. Did your heart flutter a little bit.

    1. Hi Wilbur,

Sebastian was very nonchalant about it all. The Stormtrooper didn't make him nervous but that Jasemin - she had him tongue tied!

  3. Hi Sebastian,

WOW, you met R2D2 & Wookie? Can you bring them home to live with you? That would be so much fun - just think of all the "bear envy".

Have fun, and don't forget to make them (your humans)buy you sweet treats. (o:

    Hugs ♥

    1. Hi Wilbur,

Um. I don't think I can feed the whole Rebel Alliance.

I'm sure Sebastian will get a few sweets too.

  4. Was the girl playing Princess Jasmine actually from Morocco?! Did she have an accent? What's a Moroccan accent like?!

... and oooh poor Sebastian... one must always keep the clones away from little bears. Clones had no mothers, therefore, were never taught how to handle small animals properly!!

    1. Hi Heather,

Probably not but she was lovely.

You know you see how nice. A Stormtrooper can be with the little kids and it's very misleading! Sebastian was a good sport. He didn't holler too much when he was upside down!

  5. I love your pictures of Disney World - whenever I see them, you make me want to go there!! :) The model for the new Fantasyland is amazing! (As is the giant Candy Land board!) My brother likes Star Wars...I think he would really enjoy a visit to Disney on a Star Wars weekend. :)

  6. Hi Kay Joy,

They say it's the happiest place on Earth. Whether that's true or not I don't know but you really can leave most of your cares at the gate. If your brother likes Star Wars he would really enjoy the weekend/s at WDW. Lots of costumed Star Wars characters!
