Changes & a Peek at the Future

While we were visiting Disney World, we looked at the plan for the New Fantasyland area.

If you take a ride on Dumbo you have a nice vantage point for seeing some of the construction on the new section which they expect to open much of later this year.

Here’s a glimpse of the part of the construction. You can see the Beast’s Castle (from Beauty and the Beast) in the distance.

Here’s a closer look courtesy of my son who has a camera that can really zoom in on something far, far away.

Here are a couple of photos of the turrets being built as part of the entry way to the new area. I think this sort of thing is fascinating! I always did like to explore houses under construction.

You can get an idea of how they are supposed to look when they are finished in this section of the drawing.

On another front, Snow White’s Scary Adventures ride which opened in 1971 is set to close this coming week. More changes are up and coming.

When one ride closes, another one opens. Oh, that’s supposed to be doors, isn’t it? A similar concept perhaps?  In any case, this is just a small glimpse of what’s going on at Disney World. I’m looking forward to seeing the new stuff when it opens!

  1. Hi Miss Ginger,

Very nice photos but...somebeary is missing? Where is my little buddy Sebastian? You didn't leave him behind (again) did you?

    Happy Memorial Day weekend.

    Hugs ♥

    1. Hi Prudence,

Now don't you worry too much. I'm fine. Sometimes I like to keep a low profile and sometimes I am busy working on my own posts to be featured in the future. As for these photos, you can't see me, but I am enjoying people watching while I'm waiting in line to ride my friend Dumbo! There was lots to see and do in WDW and oh, so many friends to meet.

      hugs,
      Sebastian

    1. Hi Wilbur,

I'm doing fine. You-know-who is very good to me and she would never leave me behind. See the above reply to our friend Prudence.

If I don't show up here in photos, it's because I like to share. If I was the only one writing this blog, I wouldn't have time for milk and cookies or to swing on my swings or go camping or hang out with Mickey Mouse or play tag in the yard or say hello to my Grandpa or my Grandma or even keep up with my responsibilities hugging every bear that goes on a trip. I'm here. And all's well.

      hugs to you Wilbur,
      Sebastian

  4. What cool pictures - the Beast's castle looks like something that definitely must be visited when it is up and running. Looks mysterious, just like it is supposed to! Thanks for the pictures - it's the next best thing to being there!
