Spiders and Bones – Very Little Reading

A few posts back I was beginning to work on some tiny books. I had high hopes that they would turn out as I had envisioned. Actually, I am pretty happy with outcome but I believe it was more luck than anything. The stains took really well and had the effect of making them look even more aged and creepy than I had planned.

Here are photos of the progression.

The beginning – never looks like much at this stage.

At this point, I can imagine what they will look like if all goes well.

The book on the left shows the spider painted brown.

Now all the spiders are painted.

Another layer of paint – on two separate projects.  I love the bony hands!

Here’s the set all finished. 
I would like to make some more but other things are waiting for me.
