At last the photos from my witch hat project which ended up being three apothecaries. Similar in some ways and different in others. I hope you enjoy these photos of them and the close-ups that follow.
This is Keelie’s Concoctions Apothecary.
Luna’s Lacy Apothecary
This is Perle’s Potions Apothecary
Meet Keelie, Luna & Perle!
These creepy candles were fun to make. My favorite is the green one in the square shaped bottle.
Each apothecary had a bunch of calla lilies – painted differently . . .
and each also had a eerie bouquet in a bottle vase. I think I had the most fun with the eyeball bouquet!
A glimpse of the potions on the shelf and Eye of Newt and Dragon’s Fire – in a bottle!
A different calla lily bouquet.
The reference books.
A view of a Keelie’s apothecary shelves.
The pumpkin next to a raven and Mr. Bones.
Each one also had a moon encircled by a star vine and dangling bottles of who knows what?
And lastly, views of other areas of the apothecaries.

Какая прелесть - великолепная задумка и ее исполнение, я обожаю эти композиции!
ReplyDeleteHi Natalia,
DeleteThank you so much! Glad you like it!

Ginger it could only be you to come up with such a magical idea. Not only the idea, but the little bottles of potions and spells. The lilies made me laugh. Plus of course your 3 bears are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWonderful.

Kay
Hi Kay,
DeleteAren't you sweet?! I incorporated things from my 'inventory' of 'stuff' and ideas I've learned about through blogs. People are so helpful and ingenious, don't you think? Thank you so much!
~ginger
Wow! They are all amazing. So much to look at & drool over. They must be brilliant to see in real life. You really are so very clever. The bears are adorable & look great with their witches hats. Well done :)
ReplyDeleteHi Stitching Noni,
DeleteThank you! They are full of details which making can drive a person crazy but that's what makes them challenging and exciting to make. I do like the hats too! Thank you again!

I absolutely love how these came out, so much fun!
ReplyDeleteHi Katy,
DeleteIt was a ton of fun. Now how will I stay out of trouble? Thanks so much!
~ginger
Oh. My. Goodness. 0_0
ReplyDeleteThese are just the most amazing wonderful things EVER! My love of tiny bottles... my love of witches, my love of Halloween... WHY IS EVERYTHING YOU MAKE PERFECT??????
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.
I am in love. I think I love little Keelie the best, whatta face!!!! XD
But... that implies I love either of the other two less... nope. They're all amazing.
Hi Heather,
DeleteI think I'll put you on the payroll! What can I say but thank you for your enthusiasm for this piece and all my work. I do love Keelie as well. She's got a very nice expression. Who would ever believe she could mix a potion like Dragon's Fire?!
Thank you! Thank you!
~ginger
I will always shamelessly promote your work XD
DeleteAre these guys for an upcoming show?
Hi Heather,
DeleteI do appreciate it. What can I say? Thank you! I wanted to make something for Halloween and this idea came to me. Then I thought why not make three. I offered them to those on my email list first since that is one of the benefits of being on it - first dibs. Then there were none. They didn't quite make it to my website or the next show either.
~ginger
I must have been booted off your email list 0_0
DeleteI never got an email!!!
Hi Heather,
DeleteYou know I would never allow that to happen! I've checked my list and I'll send you an email.
:)
~ginger
Oh my goodness! I've been watching the bits and pieces with great interest but never in a million years did I imagine such a wonderful conclusion! Those are fantastic and amazing and wonderful and delightful. If you ever need knit sweaters for your little bears, let me know. It would be terrific fun to contribute to something so special.
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa,
DeleteThank you so much for your encouraging and sweet comment! I like the surprise aspect of the finished work or when someone opens a box or just getting up close to look at a small detail. I may well take you up on your proposition. I'm intrigued. Thank you again!!!
~ginger
looks like my curiosity from the childhood brings me back to visit your work.
ReplyDeleteso much fun on reading each tiny bits and the mysterious cone!
Hi susana,
DeleteI am always glad you drop by and I'm also glad you enjoyed reading about all the different parts and pieces!
Thank you so much!

So awesome Ginger!I love this! Did you sell these? I missed the beginnings of these posts by the looks of things. This is so up my alley. I have a whole line of apothecary room sprays that I make and sell based on the movie Practical Magic... you can see them on etsy! Anyway, I'm in love with all three!
ReplyDeleteHi Michele,
DeleteThank you! I did sell them - their new homes are quite spread apart - west coast, east coast, south! Maybe I should have made four so I could have the North covered!
I'm so pleased you like them!
~ginger
A strange and wonderful creation, Ginger. I don't know how you do it. The patience you must have to work on all that detail has me gob-smacked - I stand in awe! I do love your three apothecary bears - they are very sweet, and not scary at all.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kayzy
Hi Kayzy,
DeleteI sometimes wonder myself when I am finished and looking back on stuff I have made. I'm glad you think they are sweet because I wanted them to be a little charming, not frightening. :)
Thank you very much for your kind words.
~ginger
What can I say, these are fantastic. You not only have the imagination, you have the patience and skill to make the imagined real. Jock got really excited when he saw these and wanted to come and play, but I said we couldn't so now he's sulking. :-)
ReplyDeleteAlan
Hi Alan,
DeleteThank you so much. I do think it takes patience but I'm not sure where it comes from. I was never very patient before!
Too bad that Jock is sulking. Maybe I can find a potion in one of the apothecaries that will turn that frown upside down. :D
~ginger
These are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha! :)
Delete~ginget
Pure genius!!! And gorgeous too. You did a fantastic job.
ReplyDeleteHi Raeven,
DeleteThanks so much! A terrific project to lose oneself in and the delightful feedback like yours is icing.
~ginger
I was away when you posted this, must have been how I missed it. I was visiting with Katy yesterday and she asked me if I had seen this post. She told me how fantastic these hats were. I am so glad she did, because this is wonderful. I can not believe all the detail you have added to these pieces, they are outstanding.
ReplyDeleteHi Joanne,
DeleteHow wonderful that you were able to visit with Katy! I know she's on a grand whirlwind of an adventure. What a bonus to be able to see you as part of that!
Thank you for checking out this post and the apothecaries. It was a really fun one and I am sort of missing the challenge even though I have other irons in the fire so to speak.
Thank you!
