Come and Gone

A couple of faces have come and gone since the first of the year. First there was Grace.

Grace came to be in stages. First there was the head,

then the body. I quickly snapped this photo when I was passing by my work table one day. When I came across it, I found it amusing. I don’t know why. Perhaps I am easily amused.

Here’s Grace before she went on her journey westward. I rather like to think she was saying “Are you done yet? Can I please go now?”

Next there was Otis. Otis was requested as Sebastian’s country cousin. He sports a gingham patch on his tummy and wears a little tiny basket charm necklace.

I noticed in this photo that Sebastian seems to be giving him advice before he headed out to his new home. “And that there is the camera. Always look at the camera when you’re having your picture taken. And sit up nice and straight – no slouchies. Do as I say not as I do. You’ll be fine Otis – just keep the “y’alls” and the “yeps” to a minimum.”

“Remember, we’re family and families stick together. If you ever need anything, just give me a call. I know exactly how to brush crumbs under the rug and how to hide chocolate papers.”

cag_6

That’s Sebastian for you.  Giving invaluable advice to newbies.

  2. .Sebastian, you have got the advice down pat. I'm so glad you told him how to hide the evidance. Under the bed is a good place also.

    1. Hi Wilbur,

I had almost forgotten about under the bed. Thanks for reminding me! You're a good friend Wilbur.

  3. Oh man, he forgot to mention hiding the empty honey pot!

'Isn't it funny how a bear likes honey,
Buzz, buzz, buzz, I wonder why he does'

What do you mean I'm not allowed to sing in the office in the middle of the day?! (You're disturbing people - LT) Don't be ridiculous, they look far too disturbed already!

    Hugs

    1. Hi Jack,

You are so funny! I think I might have to come and visit you and see those far too disturbed people that you hang out with all day. I'm sure some of them can be downright scary. Have you see people when they eat??!!

      I like your singing!

      hugs,
      Sebastian

  4. Hi Sebastian,

I was sitting here thinking and decided that maybe it's time for you to make a "Newbie List". You know, how to get into mischief without getting caught. Bet there are lots of teddy bears out there that would love a list like that. New bears just don't have the "bearsperience" that we have. (o:

    1. Hi Prudence,

I never thought of that. It could be quite helpful to the new ones who start out thinking that being well-behaved is the way to go. I mean it works most of the time - especially when you need a cookie or two - but after that sometimes you have to entertain yourself and that doesn't always turn out right (by some people's standards, that is).

      Thank you for the suggestion!

      hugs,
      Sebastian

  5. WellI'm glad you give advice, but sometimes new bears just don't listen - take Louie for example, couldn't avoid the y'alls specially when he met Jack and then to get drunk on your first day. Really Sebastian, they don't always listen do they? Mind you, I did assist a little with the wine bottle, as did Jack, so I suppose advice can be given but sometimes other bears help you to clean forget.
    Hugs,
    Jock

  6. To Sebastian the Sage.
We salute you, O wise one, and think you should consider conducting workshops (Survivor camps) for young bears about to leave home. The critters down under can provide a venue and lots of trees to climb too. Come on down, Sebastian!
