When I put this away a couple of years ago, it was not because I didn’t love this fur. I had previously made a bear in similar mohair but in a different color. I liked the results but I put this one away because something else caught my attention and my patience for working with it departed.
Then when I came across the fabric again, that longing to see it turn into the bear I had envisioned so many, many months ago resurfaced. I decided that now was the time and I found that my patience for this project returned.
In the photo below, it might be kind of difficult to discern that this furry blob is the body of a bear. Both arms and both legs are there – in there – somewhere.
And this spherical thing is the head. I know because there’s a nose there on the lower left portion. I also know this because I sewed that nose.
There’s the face that waited good-naturedly for me to get back to it and bring it forth.
The first bear of the New Year. Welcome you wild haired thing you!

She reminds me of the little blond haired girl with a wild mane, she was so busy that she didn't have time to comb. Her name was Charlotte, charly for short
