Short Lived Appearances

I have retaken my blog for a couple of posts – I hope. I know Sebastian is up to something but whatever he is doing it’s all very hush-hush. In the meantime, I’m waiting for the sun to reappear here.

The last few days and possibly the next few days have been or will be either rainy or overcast. How’s that for fitting a lot of conjunctions in one sentence?

In spite of the rain, Spring has arrived even if the temperatures aren’t quite there yet. With its arrival our favorite flowers make their short lived appearances.

We can’t help but be impressed with their show. I hope you don’t mind my sharing these few photos I took in the rain.

This peony must know how much we enjoy its splendor. Every year we are amazed – amazed I tell you, at these luscious blooms.

sla_5

My bleeding hearts have yet to arrive but lest you get the idea I am an avid or talented gardener, all this happens without my doing one whit – I save my whits for the studio, the bears and other projects.

Speaking of which, things are still underway. Here’s the latest: a small box full of small books. I don’t know if I have gotten carried away or if I’m just getting started!

  1. Peony's are my favourite flower along with roses. I am afraid it is too hot here to grow Peony's, oh how I would love to. Thanks for sharing your beautiful spring flower with us. Plus your lovely watercolor.

    1. Hi Mari,

Thank you! I am more than happy to share as the readers here may be some of the few people that actually see them since they grow in the back of our house. Yes, Sebastian seems to pop up just about anywhere! :D

  3. Alas, cold, grey and wet here too, but the cherry trees outside are finally starting to bloom...

    1. Hi Katy,

Good for you there. The cherry tree blooms here are long gone - they don't stick around for very long, do they? Enjoy them and maybe the sun will peek out it's face for both of us on either side of the pond!

      :)

  4. Hi Miss Ginger,

It sounds like you are getting the weather we had over the weekend and last week.

Your flowers are bee-u-tee-ful, how could you think we would get tired of looking at pictures of your garden - NEVER!

Have a wonderful week, and leave Sebastian to his plotting and planning. (o:

    1. Hi Prudence,

It must be if you had rain and cloudy skies last week. I'm glad you enjoy the flower pictures! I can't seem to resist sharing every year. I suppose it reminds me to enjoy them while they bloom since they disappear way too quickly! You have a good week too Prudence.

      hugs,

    1. Hi Ladytats,

Peonies are so luscious aren't they? The colors on this one are terrific - the rich pink and the pale yellow. Sebastian says to tell you hello back!

      Thanks!

    1. Hi Val,

The peonies are something else, aren't they? If you make some books you must show and tell. I'll bet they'd be terrific!
