Trial Run – Input Invited

tr_ii_1

Hi ho everyone! Sebastian here ready for the trial run of my proposal. Perhaps I shall call this Phase III. If you are willing, please share your thoughts on this presentation and how I might improve it. All suggestions welcome!

I am using puppets for my role playing. The girl puppet is supposed to be Ginger

tr_ii_2

and the bear puppet is supposed to be me. I have included some PowerPoint slides to support my proposition.

Please send any suggestions you have my way. I really, really, really want my very own car!

  1. I hope you get your car Sebastian. Would that be a full size person type car or a Sebastian sized car? Would you have to take a driving test?

    1. Hi Granny K,

Thank you. You know - I haven't even thought about the size or if I would have to take a driving test! Oh no! I suppose it won't matter if she says no but if she says yes then I have to think some more.

      hugs,
      Sebastian

  2. Hi Sebastian,

Great idea.....yes, you really do need your own car. I can see you know.....in a convertible!!!

Top down, wind rushing through your teddy bear fur - oh, yes, yes, yes You should have a car of your own.

Miss Ginger - you can help with the $$$ if Sebastian comes up short.

    1. Hi Prudence,

I'm glad you think it's a great idea. If she lets me have one, you should come over and I will take you for a ride. We'll go for ice cream! Doesn't that sound like fun? I hope she will say yes. I just have to get up my courage and make the presentation to her!

      hugs,
      Sebastian

  4. Its a big responsibility but with a little training, you should be fine. However, I'm not sure Ginger will go for the idea. She wants to keep you safe and nearby because she loves you. Excellent presentation, by the way.

    1. Hi Mama Bear,

Thank you for your thoughts! I hope that if I were to get a car, that it won't be hard to learn to drive. I am a really good tricycle driver. I stay inside the lines and everything - just like you are supposed to do when you are coloring in a coloring book.

  5. Sebastian, I think you should be a lawyer, your case was very convincing! But did you ever think that if you have your own car, Ginger couldn't come along with you on your adventures? I don't think she would fit and you would get very lonely without her, I would think. Who would take pictures of you and your car???? Just a thought. Be sure if you get one that you always wear your seatbelt. And NEVER text while driving, ok?? : )

    1. Hi Tricia,

Oh I am so glad you think my case is convincing! That gives me great hope that I might get a car! How exciting would that be? I suppose taking her along might be a bit of a challenge. I'll have to give that some thought. She's been very good to me so I better figure this one out. I will wear a seat belt and so far, I don't have a mobile phone so I couldn't text anyway. That is good advice. Thank you so much for giving me some things to think about!

      hugs,
      Sebastian

  6. Sebastian, we think you need to throw a cookie into the mix, that's bound to seal the deal...

I can always depend on you to have a good idea. I hadn't thought of the edible aspect of payment. I wonder if I have any that I can part with?

      Thanks so much fellers!

  7. Hello Sebastian,
That is a very good presentation. You laid out all the points clearly.
There are a couple things to think about, you need to attend Drivers Training, and do you know what is the legal age for Bears to get their drivers license? Human children need to be 16 yrs old.
Also, tho you may have enough to purchase a car, the cost of fuel and also insurance in case you have an accident are on going costs. Do you have a steady income? or a generous allowance?
Best wishes on this new endeavor.

    1. Hi Ladytats.

Thanks for your analysisises. Okay, not sure how to spell that. I can see you have given my situation a lot of thought.

I think there are different rules for teddy bear drivers and if I ever do get a car of my own, I'll sort out the details then.

      Thanks so much!

  8. Hmmm... Yes, I think that was a good argument. You pointed out that you would be generous, that you would go on adventures, and that you would run errands. Who could say no to that? You also have thought through how you would pay for the car. (Maybe see if you can find another 3 cents - you might like a really nice car!) And finally you promised that you would be a safe driver. Yep, a very good argument. I hope you get your car. :)

    1. Hi K. Joy,

Oh you have given me such hope! Thank you so much. I hope you are right. I wonder if there are any pennies in the sofa cushions? That is a very good idea. With just a little more money I might be able to get something really really cool. Again, thank you for all the encouragement. I hope this planning pays off!

      Sebastian

  9. Well now, I think you have to be quite canny on this. I agree with LT that a cookie might be worthwhile, but you shouldn't offer everything at once. It's all about bargaining.

So, start off with 97c but be prepared to offer other things if that's not enough. I mean. you really like your marbles and your badge - I mean you could look really cool driving along wearing your badge so offering it up is just one thing too much. So....I'd play it this way:
    G. "How would you pay for it?"
    S. " Well, I'm not a rich bear you know, but I have saved 97c and a pair of dice. Would that be enough?"
If you're lucky you'd get agreement on that - after all Ginger could use the dice to win extra money.
    If the next statement is:
    G." Well Sebastian that's kind but 97c isn't much."
Then you have to look pathetic and cry a little, but then wipe your tears and offer a cookie as well. Then the master stroke - You can say:'
"Sniif, sniff, why Ginger I thought you might like to be the cool Mom with the bear who has his own car."
That should clinch it, but you could offer the three marbles as a last resort. That way you'd get your car AND keep you Deputy Sheriff's badge to wear as you drive around.

I hope that helps your cause. You have to be a bit bearbrained to win sometimes.

    Hugs,

    Jock

PS, someday you can take me for a ride in your new car.

    1. Hi Jock,

Oh, that is some very good advice. I really would like to keep my badge and you are so right. I would look very very cool driving along wearing it.

You are so - um, what's the word? Savvy. Yes you are savvy. I like the bit about looking pathetic. That's one of my best looks and that bit about crying a little - that should nail things for me because Ginger is an easy mark that way.

Thank you Jock for the great advice. I am going to put all these new and improved suggestions together and make my presentation very soon.

      hugs,
      Sebastian

P.S. If I get a car, you will definitely have to come over and we can go on a picnic!

  10. Oh Sebastian, Alan has reminded me of a trick he used to use. Don't take off your specs when you're presenting. You may feel cool, but Alan says that playing the speccy kid who's vulnerable works wonders with impressionable ladies (soft touches basically).
Also, it looks so much more dramatic if your specs magnify the slow welling up of tears when you hit your pathetic stage;-)
    Go for it,
    hugs,
Jock - oh and Louie says "Go for it." 'cos he'd like a ride in your car too.

    1. Hi Jock,

You are so-o-o-o smart. If I can remember where I put my specs, I will wear them. I like that bit about "the slow welling up of tears". That's very good.

I'll take EVERYBODY for a ride!

      hugs,
      Sebastian
