Back in the Studio

Since returning from our adventure, I have felt a bit philosophical. I am not sure why. Maybe it is because that is what travel does to a person or maybe it is the jetlag. Either way, I am glad to have been able to go, really, really enjoyed being with our dear friends and am ever so pleased to be back home too. I think our house missed us or maybe it’s the other way around.

bits_2Photo taken outside Mt. Rainier Nat’l Park – not our house!

I came back with several new ideas – some include modifications to plans that were already in my head. I expect to be happily occupied for quite some time. I intend to post photos of these things as they progress.

Speaking of photos, when I look through the viewfinder, snap a picture and post it here, you are seeing what I have seen. It is one way to share an aspect of an experience. Often in our travels, I regret that I cannot also transmit the feel of the rain in the forest, the scent of the roses, the taste of fresh brewed coffee or the sound of a bird call that is new to me. Photos will only go so far.

I will miss moments from our travels like the one below but at least I have photos to remind me of the fun times. Lex took this photo which is one of my favorites. (Thanks for sharing Lex.) As you can see we were oblivious to his camera, having just spent a sizable chunk of change in a craft shop. What a blast!

Blogging our trip allowed me to keep in touch with our family and friends while we were away. Thank you for coming along for the ride as well. I think I have missed quite a few updates from many of you who also blog. I hope I will be able to catch up in between cleaning the glue from my fingers and rethreading the sewing machine.

Now it’s back to the real (as much as it ever is in the studio) world. Now if I can just keep my eyes open . . .

  1. I have loved seeing your photos. I am very unlikely to ever be able to go there so it gave me enjoyment. I'm glad you are back in the craft room.
