A Scary Delight

I am excited to post these photos of “A Scary Delight”. It has a bit of a surprising twist which makes it all that much more fun to create. So . . . if you dare, read on.

Did you get your invitation to the party? The Halloween party? The Halloween costume party?

Here it is:

With just a turn of the spindle at the top, you get a peek into the party place.

Meet your host who is just a wee bit batty.

asd_10_1

He warmly welcomes you to join him at his sp-o-o-o-o-o-ky party.

asd_10_5

On the shelf you will find all kinds of concoctions. What’s in those bottles? I would be careful to ask before you indulge.

asd_10_2

Providing a bit of atmosphere for the conviviality: a skeleton tree conjured from a cast iron kettle.

Some of the invited guests are doing the bat wing boogie up above

asd_10_3

and below, the jack o’ lanterns lend their light to the gathering.

asd_10_4

But sometime in the dark of the night . . .

Lightning strikes!

Yikes!

The lights go out but there is an ominous glow. What is it?

Why it’s the costume party! It carries on even in the dark!

The edge quotes radiate light along with the dotty scroll works and skull tree topper.

And - the eyeballs cast a wild look around while jack o’ lanterns really do glow albeit with a little bit of a smirk.

You can easily find your host by his luminous necklace.

He might tell you to help yourself to some potions and refreshments . . . if you dare.

“I am delighted you could join me at my party. Thank you for coming. Mwahahaha!”

    1. Hi Alan,

Please tell Jock it's all in fun and he will be quite safe - especially since he's of the same heritage as the host.

Thank you - I appreciate your comment!

    1. Hi Kay!

Thank you my dear! I do have my doubts almost all the way through so when I round the bend at the end, it's wonderful to hear it "is magical". I'm not sure either about the origins of these crazy ideas!

      hugs,

    1. Hi Jack & The Clan,

Yep - we would be best advised to stay away from the cauldron. It's a touch warm. We think you would make a great party guest!

    1. Hi Hannah,

Thank you! It's great to get some feedback - especially when I have doubts about my projects almost all the way through until the end. Then sometimes I think maybe it's okay but sometimes I'm still not sure. It's good to hear what you especially like - the curtain rolling up was an idea I had at the beginning but gave me loads of trouble in the execution. Whew! Glad it finally came together1

      Thanks!
