White Front & Back

It’s coincidental – really it is. That I have been painting with white paint today. Well, yesterday, today – and probably tomorrow too. I’ll show you why I think it’s coincidental.

This is the front. I’m trying to talk myself into adding color to it.

And this is the back. Same goes for the back. After all they go together – front and back.

I took the following photo to see if I could capture more of the dimension of the various elements I have added. Part of the pleasure is trying new things, new techniques. This was fun once I got my courage up.

Now for the coincidental part. I think I will start by quoting an essay I read recently in one of my favorite magazines (Our State). Susan Kelly writes “Here in North Carolina we’re allowed to love snow, because it’s a fleeting, temporary gift . . .”

So knowing that the snow we got would disappear almost as quickly as it arrived, I took a few blurry photos in the dark of our front yard

And our back deck.

It was kind of thrilling watching it come down. Mostly because some of us like to hope we will get to enjoy the beauty and quiet of a new fallen snow. We’d like to see it at least cover the blades of grass completely. Ah, well, maybe next time.

    besitos

    1. Hi Mari,

Thank you for your comment. I am going to give adding color a try. What can I lose, right?

Yes, snow isn't very common here so I enjoy seeing it fall. I guess it's the same for you too.

  2. Hi Ginger I loooove it just white. Although it depends what you are going to do with it though. Enjoy the white of the snow.

    1. Hi Kay,

I love it white too so it's a dilemma but if I can bring out the dimensional aspect of it by adding a little color, I will. It makes me very nervous. Who knows, I might decide to stop while I'm ahead!

  3. Hi Miss Ginger,

I am enjoying my first snowy winter up here in the mountains. Yesterday you could hardly see across the field and last night it snowed more. It's cold (10 degrees) but it's nice and cozy in the house.

I see you have a beary brave protector on your porch. Maybe one day you will post about him. (o:

    1. Hi Prudence,

I am glad you are cosy and it must be beautiful up there in the mountains when everything is covered in snow. Maybe you can get someone to take some pretty photos. Stay warm little friend.

    1. Hi Jack, Boo & The Clan,

Topher thought it was weird and just a tad too cold for his liking. But he still managed to get out in it - but we only had a little. He'll be in a fix if we ever have more than a little!

      hugs,
