Over the weekend we went to visit our daughter who currently goes to school in the mountains. It’s been our plan to take the opportunity to try ziplining before she graduates. We had our chance this past weekend.
Here we are standing on the bridge to the platform of the first zipline on our tour. The bridge itself was pretty neat made from logs and trees.
We hiked up the mountain and through the trees and rode a total of three ziplines. The first one gave us a chance to see what it was going to be like. The second one was long and high with beautiful views. The third one was a fast and thrilling ride. Here we are before taking off on that last one,
after departure
and the four of us after it was all over.
On Sunday our visit was a little more sedate riding along the Blue Ridge Parkway (in a car)
stopping now and then to enjoy the views. These mountains have been here a long time but seeing them never gets old.
Thanks for reading! Have a good Monday!

Sebastian, were you in that bag on your moms back, whizzing down that zipline..
ReplyDeleteI bet that made your tummy go funny.
I would like to see all your beautiful mountains. Whoooo. Hooo for zip lines.
Hugs Wilbur
Hi Wilbur,
DeleteSebastian was patiently waiting for us at the bottom of the mountain. When he heard that "any unsecured items could be donated to the mountain", he decided the best place for him was listening to the blue grass band at home base.
Maybe next time we'll find a way to let him experience the adventure!
hugs,
~ginger
I think it was a great day with much fun to you.
ReplyDeleteAnd all this with so much beautiful nature around.
Greetings from Bavaria

That looks like a lot of fun. Katy and I did some Ziplining in South Africa back in 2007 and we had a gas too.
ReplyDeleteWe're all glad that Sebastian stayed on safe ground, we'd hate to have him"donated" to the forest, but we were told that bears do live in the woods.
Hugs,
Jock, Zeke, Ruby and Tom (the photographer bear)
Hi Jock, Zeke, Ruby and Tom,
DeleteI like that saying "had a gas". It describes it perfectly. I'm going to have to start using that more frequently.
Yes, that donation thing can be a bit traumatizing for a bear that didn't grow up in the woods.
I bet Tom, the photographer bear could get some good photos of Alan ziplining - that would be very entertaining.
hugs,
~ginger
Ah, himself got in there first, but yes, it can indeed be a gas (when you haven't moved past the 1950's...) ;o)
ReplyDeleteLT
A gas it was - with great big whoops and hollers - that's my Southern assessment. I can just add the gas terminology to my repertoire.
