First Stage of Painting – Witch Hat 2014

I’ve started the first stage of painting on the witch’s hat that I began not long ago. These two arrows indicate a couple of important details. The upper arrow is pointing to a line which eventually will be key to an important feature in this project. The lower arrow points to a small eyelet which is related to the line. Eventually you will see how all this fits together. In the meantime,

back to the paint. First I added some texture.

Here is a view from further away.

Here’s where the first of the colors come in.

And a few more.

Remember the previous post where I showed how I added fabric to the paper mache base? This close-up photo gives you a chance to see how it looks similar to a canvas.

A little more fussing around with paint. Now it’s time to consider the other details I want to add.

Until next time,

  1. Now Wilbur and I think that hole is for breathing and we can't guess what will happen to the other area. We love the colour you have on it.

    1. Hi Wilbur and Granny,

Thank you! I hadn't thought of that - a hole for breathing! You have a very good imagination. It's a crazy project to be sure1
