I am here.

Hi ho. Sebastian here. With the riding of the underground, and the walking about, and the maps with pictures of bears on them, and the long list of things I want to do while I am here, I must offer my sincere apologies to those who seem to have missed me just a little. I have been a busy bear out looking for my friend Paddington bear, but it is very nice to be missed. Here are a couple of close up pictures of me so you will know that I really am here. Really. I promise.

Happened upon these things

while wandering the streets of London Saturday.

Lot of people ice skating at a seasonal ice rink.

Our first Paddington on The Paddington Trail!

Extraordinary windows at Harrod’s.  These photos don’t do them justice.  They were animated, brightly lit and stunning.

So very festive!

Let Me Back Up for a Moment

Back in October I posted a witch hat project underway. I have not forgotten that I didn’t show the rest of it. It has been a crazy few months and that’s all I have in the way of an excuse. I aim to fix that now even though Halloween seems like ages ago and we celebrate Thanksgiving this week. After that, we all know what follows in December!

I have plans to post some of these new pieces on my website for adoption but for now I will show you the rest of the Witch Hat.

It begins with stepping back a bit to a photo that got lost somewhere in the process. This is that photo. I had to figure out where this I needed to put this lighted rope.

Here’s another viewpoint.

This shows it in place on the painted hat. Finding where my marks were so I could glue it in place was a bit tricky.

Next I added some glitter to a black leaf vine – after all it was for Halloween.

This detail photo shows the vine and rope in place.

I created this little lady go with the hat. She was fun to make but it was much easier to work on the large witch hat than her tiny one.

And . . . at last, after all this time. The entire piece. Together. Here. On bearbits. Hopefully, I’ll be able to add her to my website sometime in the next little while. I’m trying to get a good photo of the rope lit up, but I’m not having much success.

So that’s me backing up for a moment. Now for my next trick . . .

Thanks very much for reading!

A Glimpse into a Different World

While at the teddy bear show, I had the opportunity to get a glimpse into a different world. Different from teddy bears but alike in so many ways. The camaraderie, the light heartedness, the creativity, the imagination and the fun!

Right across the street from our show, FaerieCon East was taking place at the very same time. Click here if you want to know more about FaerieCon.

Because we were otherwise engaged (with teddy bears) we weren’t able to participate in any of their events, but we were able to visit the marketplace on Sunday afternoon.

The participants had some amazing costumes. Many with wings. Check this one out made from playing cards.

While costumes with wings were quite common there were quite a few that were different like this one,

this one that took on aspects of a tree,

and this one some had pretty amazing details, but then a lot of them did.

Finally, there was this helpful mushroom – called Shroomy. I’m guessing on the spelling.

I’ve said this a number of times over the last 29 years, but I’ve seen some pretty amazing things because of teddy bears!

2014 Christmas Holiday Teddy Bear Show and Sale

Hello everyone!

Here are table photos that I took over the weekend at the teddy bear show. Not every table is represented – only artists tables. And of those, only the ones where there were bears and friends still on display. I hope you enjoy this glimpse of the show. It was, as always, so much fun and really, really wonderful to see my artist and collector friends. And the bears, too! If you have any questions about the photos, please let me know and I’ll do my best to get you answers.

Stevie T – a feast for the eyes

Tyler Crain-Davis – great costume!

Vicki Stephan – very colorful!

Jackie Melerski – always popular.

Simone and Claudia Bleeker – all the way from Germany!

Elizabeth Taylor – we go back a long way.

Judith Eppolito – she was my neighbor at the show.  We had fun!

Delores Austin – beautiful huge poinsettias!

Shane Elliott – from Canada!

Yours Truly – wish I was there now!

Donna Griffin – such cuties.

Donna Nielsen – lotsa bears to begin with but fewer at the end!

Kathleen Starks – so festive.

Marty Bumala – bringing fun from Virginia.

Cindy McGuire – I wish I had more time to chat with her!

Art Rogers – a creative and fun collection!

Vicky Lougher – fluffy and sweet bears.

Cindhy Malchoff – she jingled all the way!  And we loved it.

Sharon Barron – lots to choose from but it wouldn’t be easy.

Pam Kisner – she can entertain you all day long!

Darlene Allen – my dear friend, all smiles!

And that, my friends, is most of what I had on my camera.  There are a few other things that are unrelated to bears and if I can catch up with what is on my desk, I will come back and share them with you!

love & hugs,
