Done!

I was able to finish the box piece I was working on. Time to take a breath I think.

Here are a few photos of the front as it was underway.

The window insert was easier than I expected it to be.

Painting the outside came next because of the way I wanted to finish the inside with paper.

This is the front which is also the title – LOVE POTION NO. 9

Here is a photo of the box opened. I didn’t think about how it would be to work with stripes. I have done it before. I just fall in love with a paper and then deal with whatever comes after – even if it’s stripes.

This is the left side. I rather like the heart plants in pots but I also like the layered vintage style valentine at the bottom.

On the right side sits Love Potion No. 9 – a furry sort of ‘potion’! The most intensive work was hanging the bottles – fun, but intense. I think my forehead is still wrinkled from concentrating on it!

One thing I try to accomplish is to make sure that both the bear and the box will stand alone as well as together. Here you see the right side without the bear.

Then the little guy all on his own. At only 4.25” tall he fits nicely in the box (or your pocket). This piece is available; I just need to make it official.

As it is now Monday, a new week begins. It’s also probably a good time to start a new project. I have several to choose from I just need to pick one. Thanks for sticking around for this one.

  5. What a stunning wee bear and box. Louie says he'd like stripes next time he gets his box decorated, but Alan explained that would spoil the effect, so he's going to put up with it.

    Heaps of hugs,

    Jock and Louie

  14. Stripes would create a challenge for me, but your creative mind made it work perfectly. Love Potion No. 9 looks very content in his home. Wonder where he'll be spending his Valentine's Day.
