I am excited to post these photos of “A Scary Delight”. It has a bit of a surprising twist which makes it all that much more fun to create. So . . . if you dare, read on.
Did you get your invitation to the party? The Halloween party? The Halloween costume party?
Here it is:
With just a turn of the spindle at the top, you get a peek into the party place.
Meet your host who is just a wee bit batty.
He warmly welcomes you to join him at his sp-o-o-o-o-o-ky party.
On the shelf you will find all kinds of concoctions. What’s in those bottles? I would be careful to ask before you indulge.
Providing a bit of atmosphere for the conviviality: a skeleton tree conjured from a cast iron kettle.
Some of the invited guests are doing the bat wing boogie up above
and below, the jack o’ lanterns lend their light to the gathering.
But sometime in the dark of the night . . .
Lightning strikes!
Yikes!
The lights go out but there is an ominous glow. What is it?
Why it’s the costume party! It carries on even in the dark!
The edge quotes radiate light along with the dotty scroll works and skull tree topper.
And - the eyeballs cast a wild look around while jack o’ lanterns really do glow albeit with a little bit of a smirk.
You can easily find your host by his luminous necklace.
He might tell you to help yourself to some potions and refreshments . . . if you dare.
“I am delighted you could join me at my party. Thank you for coming. Mwahahaha!”
Wonderful! you did a fantastic job creating this scene. Have a really great spoooky party.
ReplyDeleteSebastian, what costume are you planning on wearing this year?

DeleteWow Ginger,
ReplyDeleteJock is hiding behind me now, he got so spooked. You are incredibly inventive and imaginative.
Alan
Hi Alan,
DeletePlease tell Jock it's all in fun and he will be quite safe - especially since he's of the same heritage as the host.
Thank you - I appreciate your comment!

Ginger you surprise and astound me. Your little scene is magical. I don't know what you were on when you dreamed that up. What ever it was it worked.

Kay
Hi Kay!
DeleteThank you my dear! I do have my doubts almost all the way through so when I round the bend at the end, it's wonderful to hear it "is magical". I'm not sure either about the origins of these crazy ideas!
hugs,
~ginger
Bwahahahahaha, looks like the perfect place to party til you drop (although hopefully not into the cauldron...)

Jack & The Clan
Hi Jack & The Clan,
DeleteYep - we would be best advised to stay away from the cauldron. It's a touch warm. We think you would make a great party guest!
hugs,
~ginger

Wow. I love Halloween decorations and that is very cool. You did a great job.
ReplyDeleteLynn
Hi Lynn,
DeleteThanks so much! It was both exciting and 'scary' to make....mistakes, misfires, corrections and all!
~ginger
This is great! I love it =) I really like how the curtain rolls up =) movable pictures are so cool =) and then I keep scrolling, and comes to the glow-in-the-dark pictures, it just gets better and better, like I said, I love it! =)
ReplyDeleteHannah
Hi Hannah,
DeleteThank you! It's great to get some feedback - especially when I have doubts about my projects almost all the way through until the end. Then sometimes I think maybe it's okay but sometimes I'm still not sure. It's good to hear what you especially like - the curtain rolling up was an idea I had at the beginning but gave me loads of trouble in the execution. Whew! Glad it finally came together1
Thanks!
