Slogging Thru vs. Twirling

stvt_1

There is a list I keep of bear business things I want or need to do – some are actually designs I want to pursue and others are things that have a deadline. There was one thing on the list I kept recopying onto new lists as I created them. I was of the opinion that I would never ever get around to working on it. It was partly because I knew I would have to invest a certain amount of time to pursue it properly and the other was that I was uninspired.

Months and weeks and weeks and months passed by without the tiniest hint of an idea. It seemed as if I could not come up with a satisfactory plan. Somewhere in the recesses of my mind maybe I was trying to figure out which direction I wanted to go. Then a few days ago, I did get a smidgen of inspiration. There’s nothing quite like it for opening up a window of time. What was this long overdue project?

Glad you asked. It was an update of my website. I suppose a few months back I could have forced myself to sit down and come up with something, but I am fairly certain a few months back I would have been settling. No idea = no motivation.

It turned out that waiting was a good idea. Timing-wise it worked and idea-wise it worked. So instead of slogging thru it, it was more like twirling. Do you ever get that? I’m sure you do. You begin with a tiny germ of an idea and which takes you down a path. Then that one concept begins to form into a plan and suddenly you are tippity-tapping your way to an entire concept.

I learned some things along the way. Some were technical computer-y type things and others were more practical – like how long one can physically reside in front of a monitor without moving anything but your mouse. Turns out if you want to move anything but your mouse you had better move everything except your mouse – at least occasionally!

So it is out there now and I’m finished with that sort of thing for at least the next little while. If you want to check it out, you can click here. That takes you to my new home page. You will also see that I have a few bears peering out from my available bears page.

Now I am changing gears and looking at my list again to see which things deserve some twirling. Thanks for reading!

  1. Oooh, lots of fun! I totally need to add a ton more photos etc to mine, but I'm holding off until I get more PC memory, as it's totally dragging on photo processing since I got the new camera last year...

    1. Hi Katy,

You have so many interesting things going on that I have no doubt that in time you will conquer the photo thing as well. Good luck and have fun!
