As promised, today is the day. The day I am sharing the whole entire piece you have been seeing glimpses of for the last few posts. It is called the Fairy Berry Birthday Feast. We’ll call it the Fairy Feast in the interest of brevity.
Here’s a look at the Fairy Feast before it is populated. It shows you how all the parts and pieces, the bits and bobs, the doodads and hoo-ha’s fit together.
Here’s a different perspective.
And another. In this one you can see the table all set and the buffet in the back.
But where oh where are the party guests?
Let’s see. Oh, there’s the Fairy Feast, way over there.
We don’t want to sneak up on them too suddenly. Let’s just sort of walk quietly to see if we can eavesdrop.
I don’t even think they know we are here, do you? See all the guests? There’s five little fairy bears in various sizes, a bird, a turtle and a bee.
Let’s get a little closer to see if we can hear what they are saying. I think they might be singing the birthday song.
Would you look at that? Five different colored little fairy bears with their wings and ribbons having a feast in the forest. I wonder if they would mind if I crashed their party.
I’m going to see if I can find that bottle that Alice drank from and shrink down really small. I’d really like to eat one of those cupcakes!
What’s that you say? The fairies are saying something. Could you repeat that? Sure, I’ll tell them.
The fairies wanted me to say thank you for your patience and enthusiasm. They want to propose a toast. “To the best blog readers in blogland – cheers!” Thanks from me and all the fairies!
Aw so cute :) I have had the teddy bears picnic stuck in my head since I saw the last set of photos!!
ReplyDeleteHi Fiona,
DeleteThanks very much! Now we'll have to think of a different song eh?
:D

I feel as though we have been peeping where we shouldn't. It is wonderful to see such beautiful little fairy's. All of the colours so pretty.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful food they have at their party. Do you think they will dance soon.
Hugs
Hi Kays Kids,
DeleteThat is a terrific way of seeing you have! Thank you so much. I think a fairy dance would be just the thing - dance off the cupcakes! Oh that would be me. Fairies obviously don't have such concerns!
:D

(Mouth drop open) What an incredible piece of art you have created! I love every inch of it, all the detail, amazing. I thought you visited all the sweet shops just because you loved sweets, now I see you have been gathering inspiration, how ingenious.
ReplyDeleteHi Joanne,
DeleteThank you so very very much! Yes, you have figured me out. All the sweets - yes...let's call it research! I love it!

Hi Elanor,
DeleteI can just hear you saying "clever" with your lovely accent! Thank you very much! I hope you'll like it as much or more when you see it in person. Now to get it there in once unharmed piece. That'll be tricky!
:D

Oh, its so precious and I know it was a lot of hard work....the bears are just so cute and those wings are perfect....thanks for sharing all the steps and the finished piece.
ReplyDeleteMama Bear
Hello Mama Bear,
DeleteThank you for your comment! I'm glad you like the wings! It was a mental process figuring out which way to go with them.
:)
~ginger
Oooh, the whole effect is fabulous, just as we expected. We're on our way over for tea and cake now :o)
ReplyDeleteJack and The Clan
PS, got the hug from Jock, thank you - Jack
Hi Jack and The Clan,
DeleteThanks so much! You're all very clever. I'll save you a spot - maybe Sebastian will join you all.
Thanks!

Ok, I just don't think I could sit next to a bumblebee, even if I was a fairy!! :) Love to look at them and watch them, just would rather sit across from it so I could see what it was up to! LOL Anyway, this is a work of art!! Those little fairy bears are adorable, and the feast looks scrumptious. So very lifelike!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kay Joy,
DeleteI think we can arrange for you to sit between a couple of fairies. How does that sound? Thanks so much for reading and for your comment about this piece!
:)

Beautiful, beautiful - a true labour of love, and the story wonderfully told too - you are a marvel, Ginger!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Kayzy
Hi Kayzy,
DeleteI don't know about being a marvel - more like nutso! But I'm glad you enjoyed the telling and the showing of how it all came together!
Thanks very much!
~ginger
My goodness but you've been a very busy bear and set maker since I've last checked in! So very marvelous it all is Ginger, I love it, so perfect a backdrop for the little Fae bears! It reminds of my times as a child in the woods behind my home where the soft green mosses grew. I'd spend hours playing house and such with my doll & bear friends there. I've been collecting more & more bears of color lately, love your pastel ones here. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Ani,
DeleteThank you Ani. I had a friend who showed me the wonders of moss when we were little. Such a great thing to spur the imagination, don't you think? I came home from her house and went straight for the moss in our backyard.
I'm glad you like the pastel colors!
Thanks a bunch!
~ginger
Oh oh oh! Did you hear me squealing like a five year old? Well I was and I am 43! So sweet.
ReplyDeleteHi Joy,
DeleteOh that was YOU! Well, I'm thrilled. I love to make a 43-year-old squeal! What fun and I didn't even know it. Thank you for telling me - makes it all the more special!
:D
~ginger
OH WOW! I love the fairy bears and the party! Such an awesome treat! Is the "boss" jealous?
ReplyDeleteHi Val,
DeleteYour comment means a lot! Thanks!
No, the boss isn't jealous. He's just trying to figure out how he can squeeze onto one of the seats!
:D

Oh wow, this is fantastic. You are very clever.
ReplyDeleteI gave Jack the hug from Sebastian. If we come over can we join the party? It looks so much fun. Hope there's plenty of hunny, 'cos being a bear I love hunny.
Hugs,
Bearlympic Jock
Hi Jock,
DeleteThanks muchly! I'm pretty sure you are welcome to join in anytime in your busy schedule. And if there's no hunny, we'll find some just for you!

ReplyDeleteThey're SO BEAUTIFUL in their pastel colors!!!
Hi Heather,

Thanks bunches!

Hi Ladytats,
