I tweaked one of my favorite patterns. It was an experiment to see if the changes I made were worth repeating/keeping.
I decided to make the bear in a fairly traditional color initially to see how it would hold up without any unique features to distract from the design.
This is how far I have gotten on this little 5 inch ted. He or she is one of several projects in the works.
And with a ton of ideas sitting on the sidelines shouting “Pick me! Pick me!” I am trying to have some self-control, stay focused, and disciplined. Yeah, it’s okay. I’m laughing too.
I would love to be one of those bears in progress you make each one so deliciously hugable and each one really does speak to you. Ginger you are most talented! love love love your bearbits
ReplyDeleteHi Debra,
DeleteThanks so much and I am glad that you are enjoying your visits here at bearbits!

Ah, sooooo cute, look at that little face! Love the color.

Hi Prudence,
DeleteI am glad you approved of the color - you are an expert after all - being a bear yourself!

Like the traditional face, looks like a him. I hope he gets picked soon.
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie,
DeleteYou may be right - perhaps it is a him. It's quite a cheering crowd - sometimes it's the squeaky wheel that gets the grease!
Thanks so much,
~ginger
Oh dear, don't pick at them, that would be just mean!

Hi Worried in Glasgow,
DeleteYou can rest easy - I don't pick 'on' them - ha ha! I just 'choose'. It's just that choosing what to do next can be quite the decision!
Thanks for your concern from,
No worries in Raleigh
What an adorable little face. I can't wait to see more progress.
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila,
DeleteThanks you! I'm glad you like it so far. I guess I really should get to sewing - it can be disconcerting to have too many body-less faces or headless bodies of which there's a couple right now. . .
~ginger
Yikes! a bodyless, earless bear. That takes me back to Katy's horror show, when she went through step by step how a bear got bearthed. I daren't show Louie, he'd be very upset, and you can't leave a cute face like that without the rest of him.

Jock
Hi Jock,
DeleteYou are so right! He shall not be left without the rest of him. I hope the visuals weren't too traumatic for you - perhaps this blog should have a rating for sensitive bear eyes? Anyway, thank you for stopping by to alert me to the possible effects of bear making reality.
Have a bit of honey and hot tea and take a deep breath. It will be okay I hope.
hugs,
~ginger
Thanks Ginger, I had my hunny and a wee whiff of brandy and I feel so much better now. Can we see the completed bear please - SOON.

Jock
